下巴後縮、短下巴、下巴過長（戽斗）、下巴歪…下巴會影響一個人的臉部輪廓，甚至過於後縮還會影響到呼吸問題，而對於這些下巴問題，究竟該選擇Chin Augmentation，還是Genioplasty手術？兩者之間又差在哪裡？

Chin Augmentation

Chin Augmentation常見在下巴較短、下巴後縮的情況，手術會於下巴的骨骼表面植入人工材質，以增加下巴前方體積的方式，達到改變術後外觀的效果。Arsty Clinic醫師在植入時，會依據不同的臉型及需求，將植入物做雕塑，且與骨骼貼合，一般來說有兩種手術方式：

Inward-opening type:It is placed through an intraoral incision, leaving no visible scar after surgery, but the recovery period is relatively long, and attention should be paid to diet.
Outward opening type:The incision is made at the intersection of the chin and neck, leaving a scar of about 2.5 cm after the surgery. The wound is relatively easy to care for.

Chin augmentation recovery periodSwelling is more common in the first five days, but it usually subsides and recovers within one to two weeks. Afterwards, there may be soreness and numbness, which is normal and usually lasts for one to two months.

Genioplasty手術

Genioplasty手術是透過橫切下巴骨頭處，再依照個人需求將其位移並重新固定，藉以達到延長下巴、前移／後移下巴，或使下巴變翹，若是下巴過度後縮影響呼吸、下巴歪斜、想要改變下巴角度或長度者，可以Genioplasty手術矯正下巴。而Genioplasty不一定每個人都適合，因為骨頭切開後，還需與原組織有一定的連結，以供給骨頭需要的養分，因此若是下巴長度本身不足的話，可考慮自體骨移植以達到延長下巴的樣貌。

以兩者來說，Genioplasty是將下巴切開後再移動，算是直接改變下巴形狀，可以移動的範圍或角度也較不受限，同時因為下巴骨骼可以切開往前拉，也使後方空間增加（下巴跟喉嚨之間）對於呼吸道較窄，或可能有睡眠呼吸中止症的人來說，有些情況下也可以用Genioplasty手術來改善。
