Symptoms and needs
droopy eyelids
Drooping eyelids are a common periocular problem, mainly characterized by a downward position of the upper eyelid, obscuring the eyelid crease, and in severe cases, even affecting part of the field of vision. The causes may be related to congenital weakness of the levator palpebrae superioris muscles and laxity of the eyelid tissue, or they may gradually become more noticeable with age due to decreased skin elasticity and aging of the periocular tissue. Drooping eyelids not only make the eyes look dull and tired, but they can also make the eyes appear smaller, asymmetrical, and even cause people to unconsciously raise their eyebrows, further deepening forehead wrinkles. Therefore, it is also one of the common issues in eye plastic surgery evaluations.
